True sustainability begins with the very first sketch. It’s not a trend, but a responsibility - woven into every material choice, every modular form, every future-focused detail. Circular design fosters longevity, transparency, and collaboration across disciplines. When beauty, function, and conscience align, spaces don’t just impress - they endure, respectfully connected to the world they move through.
TDoS began its sustainability journey in 2018 with the creation of a ‘Sustainability Steering Committee,’ supported by an external consultant. By 2019, a climate report was completed, with initiatives to further reduce the carbon footprint and to support WWF. In 2020, the team completed a sustainability education programme and received certification. In 2021, TDoS defined sustainable design guidelines and set a business sustainability standard. In 2022, TDoS partnered with Sustainable Maritime Interiors (SMI) and adopted SMI's cruise industry goals, integrating the R9 strategies into their design process. Viken Group joined the Water Revolution Foundation in 2023, and in 2024, TDoS established sustainability goals for 2026. The company will continue to track and advance its efforts annually.

As standard practice, TDoS will prioritise and specify materials with the lowest possible carbon footprint and recognised eco-certifications. These will be clearly marked with a “green leaf” in the specifications to ensure visibility to all stakeholders.
